As the son of a coal miner, Patrick Bruen believes “a diamond is just a lump of coal that did well under pressure.” Having graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway with a major in Commerce & Marketing, Patrick has ever since been engaged in the world as an entrepreneur and private investor. With offices in London and Hong Kong, he has built a number of successful businesses in sales, publishing and manufacturing. In 2005 Patrick co founded Investex Capital located in Mayfair, London and still is the cofounder and shareholder today. Investex Capital owns and develops natural resources in Asia, Africa and Latin America; specifically, developing mining and energy assets.
Some of the more notable natural resources that Patrick Bruen is a shareholder of are Diamonds and Metals. He is shareholder and director of South African Diamond, which successfully trades rough, polished and colored diamonds worldwide. Mining in South Africa has been one of the biggest driving forces in Africa’s most advanced and profitable industries. South Africa is consistently in the top 10 countries in diamond production in both quantity and quality around the world.
He also holds directorship and shareholding in a precious metal refinery in the Isle of Man. Precious metals are rare, naturally occurring metallic chemical elements that are worth high economic values. Historically, precious metals were used as currency, but today, they are used for investment purposes and industrial commodities. The most common precious metals are gold, silver, and platinum; which are typically used in art, jewelry, and coins.
Patrick’s prestigious and successful career has not gone unnoticed. In ___ he won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award for building Investex Capital as a market leading company that made the world community a better place.
